Evolve Hockey doubles up on Pro Hockey, 4-2.

FOXBORO – As the second day of play at New England Pro-Am Hockey’s 2017 Jr. Chowder Cup began to wind down, Evolve Hockey was amping it up in the second half of their tilt with Pro Hockey to come away with a 4-2 victory on Friday evening at Foxboro Sports Center.

The first half started with an even score and that is where it ended as well, the two sides notching themselves a goal apiece in the frame. Evolve was first on the board thanks to a goal by Reed Currie at 13:58. They just about escaped the half with a lead, but Pro Hockey jumped on the score sheet in the final minute on a goal by Dylan Dekoe at 24:10.

After a somewhat low-scoring first half, there was a torrid start to the second. Evolve was back in front just 36-seconds into the second, kicking off a clip of a combined three goals in the first 2:44 of the frame.

The offensive outburst left Evolve with a 3-2 lead, which they clung to throughout the half. It was not until Griffin Tominez put away a shorthanded, empty net score with just 55-second remaining on the game clock that Evolve was able to seal their 4-2 victory.

With a goal and an assist to his credit, Evolve forward Austin Robinson led the game in scoring as it’s only multipoint getter.
