CANTON – Day 2 of the final New England Pro-Am Hockey tournament of the summer – the 2024 Jr. Chowder Cup – got underway Friday morning. The first match on this day’s slate was a 2008 division tilt between Mole HC Elite and 4×6 Hockey, which 4×6 claimed by virtue of a 4-3 victory at the Canton Ice House.
Things looked good for 4×6 early as they stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first. Ethan Yi, Ethan Lee and Benjamin Silvia each credited with a goal to give 4×6 their halftime cushion.
Mole began clawing away at that cushion in the second. Ryan Drew put them on the board with a goal at the five-minute mark. Parker Pappas put 4×6’s lead back to three just over a minute later, but Mole goals from Max Latour and Collin Kenney brought things back down to an uncomfortable margin at 4-3.
It was a short stretch in which all those second half goals were scored. Goaltender and Joel Koehn and the 4×6 defense reasserted themselves to hold off Mole the final 16 minutes of play to secure the victory.
