FOXBORO – In the first ’09 Elite division contest slated for the 2025 Jr. Chowder Cup, Advocate Athlete Elite defeated CHE 4-3 on Thursday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center.
CHE got things going early on a Maddan Kelly goal less than five minutes into the game. The two sides went back-and-forth early leaving CHE with a 2-1 advantage by the middle of the first. They had controlled the first five minutes of the frame, but Advocate took the last five. They had goals from Rogan Lester and Alex Debruno to give their side a 3-2 advantage at the break.
Advocate’s lead grew to 4-2 early in the second on a Na Clendenan goal. CHE cut into it, making it 4-3 on a Josh Cook goal near midperiod, but goaltender Cam Packett and the Advocate defense kept things on lockdown after that to preserve the one-goal victory.
Liam Collins led the Advocate offense with a multipoint contest (1G, 1A), while Kelly scored both of CHE’s first half goals in leading their effort.
