Bloom doubles up Teddies, 4-2.

FOXBORO – With the opening day of play at the 2025 Jr. Chowder Cup drawing to a close, Bloom hockey waited until their game was drawing to a close to make their move. A second half surge guiding them to a 4-2, ’09 Elite division win over the Jr. Teddies Thursday evening at the Foxboro Sports Center.

The game belonged to Bloom, but the first half belonged to the Teddies. They won the frame, scoring the only goal in the session. Gavin Schaefer’s score at 6:49 giving the Teddies a 1-0 lead they carried through the break.

When the teams returned for the second, it was a much different story as the Bloom offense went to work. Nolan Sweet got them on the board less than a minute in and they were off to the races.

Bloom had amassed a 3-1 lead before Izzy Cabrales got the Teddies back on the scoresheet and back to within one. There was only one goal left in the contest, however, and it belonged to Bloom. Aiden Novotgny finalizing the game’s 4-2 score at 21:34 of the second half.

Vaughn Gagnon led the Bloom offense, credited with a goal and an assist in the contest.

Alexandre Gravel went on the record as the winning goaltender.
