WALPOLE – Canada West Crème upped their opening round win total to two on Saturday as they shutout Berks Blizzard 4-0 at Rodman Arena.
West had struggled to find the net in their first two games of the Junior Chowder Cup, but got on it early in their third showing, racking up a 2-0 lead before the opening half reached its midpoint. Philippe Rioux put them on the board first with his score at 8:35. Samuel Bouchard then upped the advantage to 2-0 a few minutes later. It was a power play goal coming at 11:49.
The 2-0 margin lasted into the second half where West repeated their performance, posting another two-goal effort to double their advantage. This time around it was Dominic Dumas, with his second of the tournament, and Sutty MacDonald, with a shorthanded tally to close things out, doing the scoring to bring the score to its 4-0 final.
Bouchard was the games lone multipoint scorer with a goal and an assist. West netminder M.A. Valence was credited with the shutout.
