FOXBORO – With the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup getting underway, Coaches Choice met the NS Mako Sharks on the Foxboro Sports Center ice on Thursday morning. It was an ’07 division matchup that went in favor of Coaches Choice by a margin of 6-2.
Special teams goals were the theme of the game’s first half, accounting for three of the four goals in the frame. It was a pair of shorthanded goals for Coaches Choice and a power play goal from Tim Holton for the Sharks.
Coaches Choice also got an even strength goal from Ibrahim Conteh in the first to give themselves a 3-1 halftime advantage.
It was an advantage that was doubled up in the second, another 3-1 score in the frame to result in the 6-2 Coaches Choice victory.
A hattrick from Noah DeClair and three assists from Hunter Wittman led the way for the Coaches Choice offense.
Parker Carrabba joined Holton in the scoring column for the Sharks.
