ATTLEBORO – The Connecticut Coyotes put a bow on their preliminary round of play at the 2019 Bob Crocker Jr. Chowder Cup. They defeated Hockey Development 360 4-3 on Saturday at the New England Sports Village.
Scoring came at a torrid pace in the game’s second half, but it was in the first that the dagger came down. A dagger that came in the form of a goal by Justin DeLucia just 4:14 into the contest.
It is a goal that may have seemed innocuous from afar given the time remaining in the contest and the six combined goals that were scored in the second half, but it was a goal that gave the Coyotes a 1-0 lead at the time and they finished the game with a one-goal lead.
Each side went off for three goals in the second frame as the game ended with a score of 4-3 in favor of the Coyotes. All four of those goals came from a different Coyote, a balanced scoring attack that saw only Alex LoGuercio (1G, 1A) and Peter Lewis (2A) finish the game with multiple points for the Coyotes.
Daniel Cardozo (1G, 1A), Sebastian Hung-Salazar (1G, 1A) and Joseph Dray (1G) were credited with the three scores for Hockey Development.
