East Coast Kings start strong.

FOXBORO – The East Coast Kings quest to reign over the 2009 Elite division of the 2024 Jr. Chowder Cup got off to a worthy start on Thursday evening at the Foxboro Sports Center. They defeated Advantage Prep Athletics 8-2.

It was a worthy start to the tournament and a worth start to the contest for the Kings. They assumed a 3-0 lead through the game’s first half.

Advantage broke up goaltender Kam Jackson’s shutout bid with a pair of scores in the second – one each from Kyle Olds and Emerson Douglas – but the Kings were far from done scoring goals themselves.

They struck five more times in the second half to bring about the lopsided final.

Seven East Coast skaters were credited with goals in the contest. Only Kellen Labanara (2G, 1A) had multiple tallies and, along with teammate Landon Brawn (1G, 2A), finished with a game-high three points. Peter Royer (1G, 1A), Joe Lenhard (1G, 1A), Grady Rowley (2A) and Noah Mazzola (2A) also had multiple points in the victorious effort.
