ATTLEBORO – The Eels (Blue) opened their 2008 division slate of games at the 2024 Jr. Chowder Cup with a win early Thursday morning. They defeated TeamOne 3-1 on the fresh ice of the New England Sports Village.
It was an Eels win, but it was a contest that was never quite out of reach. Just a lone goal came in the first half, Joseph Chiusano-Torres sending the Eels to the break leading 1-0.
TeamOne tied things up out of the intermission. Chase Pelletier bringing things to an even 1-1 with the first goal of the second half.
Mason Cervone broke that tie with just over six minutes to play in regulation. The goal re-established the Eels’ advantage and was prelude to Chiusano-Torres’ second of the contest, a goal that brought about the 3-1 final.
While Chiusano-Torres and Cervone did the scoring for the Eels, Kyle Levitsky did the goaltending, credited with the tournament opening shutout.
