ATTLEBORO – Day 1 of the 2025 Jr. Chowder Cup came to a close on Friday evening. The final game on the day’s slate was a ’09 division tilt between Hallzy Films and Springfield at the New England Sports Village. A game that went to Hallzy by virtue of a 4-3 decision.
Springfield came out hot, taking the game’s opening half by a 2-1 margin on goals from Cole Balog and Duncan McCarthy. Matt Puopolo was credited with the lone Hallzy goal in the frame.
Out of the break, Hallzy turned the game, running off three goals to Springfield’s one, overtaking their foe and securing the 4-3 victory.
Geo Capo netted a pair for Hallzy to lead his team and the game in points and goals scored. Tom Pingle matched his opponent for the game-high in points, credited with a goal and an assist in leading the Springfield offense.
Austin Gaylord was credited as the game’s winning netminder.
