BRAINTREE – Hockey Night in NE opened the second day of play at Thayer Academy in the 2021 Jr. Chowder Cup with a win on Friday morning. They defeated Providence Hockey Club 3-1 in ’06 division play.
The first half saw a tight contest, just one goal scored in the opening frame. That came courtesy of an Evan Longval tally that gave Hockey Night a 1-0 lead.
Providence drew even in the second on a power play goal by AJ Smith, but the tie was short lived. Alec Banosion scored just a few minutes later to put Hockey Night back on top by one. A power play goal by Kevin Pezzulich and a score from Morgan Lenehan closed out the 3-1 victory.
