BRIDGEWATER – In a Thursday morning matchup at the Bridgewater Ice Arena, it was the Mass Avalanche doubling up Atlantic Coast Elite, 4-2, in ’06 division play at the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup.
Mass ran out to an early lead on their foe, posting three goals in the opening frame. Brett Flanders – twice, with one on the power play – and Billy Dapkas did the scoring, while Declan Ginty turned away ever Atlantic bid coming his way in the Avs’ net.
Atlantic Coast got on the board in the second, and even won the frame at a score of 2-1, but had dug themselves too deep of a hole. Bruce Green-Audette and Carson Young did the scoring to get Coast back into the contest, but a shorthanded score by Brody Baker gave the Avalanche a little more breathing room on the scoreboard and rounded out the 4-2 win.
