WALPOLE – It was a good start to Day 2 of the 2015 Junior Chowder Cup for Team Doritos and a good start to their game as an offensive assault in the first half fueled a 7-3 win over the Niagara Whalers in ’99 division play at Rodman Arena.
The Whalers were the first on the board, a Patrick Faliero tally at 3:16. The lead lasted until the 8:50 mark when Brennan Henry not only drew the game even, but also started a run of five unanswered to close out the half. Team Doritos was left with a 5-1 lead at halftime.
A shorty by Henry at 12:57 of the second completed his hat trick and extended Doritos’ run to six straight. The Whalers stemmed the bleeding when Faliero notched his second of the contest at 14:39, but at 6-2 the damage had already been done. The teams traded goals the rest of the way as the game ended as a comfortable 7-3 Team Doritos win.
Brennan’s three were a game-high in goals scored. His effort was aided by Jon Olson, who had game-highs in assists (3) and points (4). Aerin Frankel backstopped the win for Doritos.
