FOXBORO – Day 3 of the final New England Pro-Am Hockey tournament of the summer – the 2024 Jr. Chowder Cup – got underway Saturday morning. The first match on this day’s slate was a 2009 division tilt between NorthStar Elite (Green) and the South Shore Kings (Azevedo), which NorthStar claimed by virtue of a 3-1 victory at the Foxboro Sports Center.
While NorthStar claimed victory in the end, they had to rally to do it. The Kings claimed the game’s first lead, Jack Dempsey scoring the only goal of the game’s first half to send South Shore into the break leading 1-0.
Offense got going for NorthStar in the second as they ran off three unanswered goals to wipe out their deficit and fulfill their quest for victory. Miller Robson, Logan Arnold and Joey Lepore came through with the goals, while goaltender Austin Adamus was on point in the second half to close out the 3-1 win.
