CANTON – Friday morning was Day 2 of the tournament, but it was also the start of the 2025 Jr. Chowder Cup for Polar Selects when they took the ice at the Canton Ice House. They got things going right, posting a 4-0 shutout of Sharks Hockey in their first ’09 Elite division game of the tournament.
It was a hot start to the tournament and a hot start to the game, as Polar came out and put away three goals in the first to take a commanding lead. Tyler Lee, Chase Bradford and James Zhang each credited with a goal to make it 3-0 at the intermission.
Polar was well in control, but they still added to their lead in the second. Zhang put away a second of the contest, while netminder Yundi Cai kept the Sharks at bay to solidify the 4-0 victory.
