CANTON – It’s one game, one win for SAQ Performance to open their ’06 division slate at the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup. Their tournament started with a 3-1 win on Thursday over H.I.D. Elite at the Canton Ice House.
All the game’s scoring came in the first half, SAQ kicking things off with a pair of goals from Jake Caffrey to open up the 2-0 advantage. H.I.D. cut the deficit in half on a Matt Dalkiewicz goal just past the midpoint of the frame, but with seconds remaining, Quinlan Clair had SAQ back in the scoring column to re-establish their two-goal advantage.
SAQ held on to their lead at 3-1 throughout the totality of the second as goaltender Alex Glofka and the team defense in front held solid and closed out the victory.
