Second half outburst propels Jr. Whalers.

CANTON – With the first day of play at the 2024 Jr. Chowder Cup nearing its end, the Boston Jr. Whalers (Black) made the most of the end of their game against the Ohio Prospects on Friday evening at the Canton Ice House. They rode a second half offensive outburst to a 5-1, 2008 Elite division victory.

Boston had a just 1-0 at the end of the first courtesy of Mason Walker goal. The real offensive damage coming in the game’s latter half where they exploded for four in the frame.

Ohio also did their scoring in the second, getting a goal from Jake Waldron, but Patrick O’Farrell scored twice and Brayden Lindsay once as the Whalers left their competition behind.

O’Farrell had two assists to go with his two goals for a game-high four points.

Justin Young was credited with the win in the Whalers net.
