Foxborough, Mass. — Top Shelf New England came out on top in a back-and-forth game, defeating 101% Always 2010, 5-2, to win the Junior Chowder Cup 2010 Elite Division title.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Top Shelf New England opened the scoring when Landon Heinrich (#12) converted just 3:23 into the game. 101% Always 2010 answered 36 seconds later as Cameron Daigle (#61) buried a goal off a pass from Mason Stonacek (#77) to even the score at 1-1.
The teams traded goals again midway through the period. Dylan Rothstien (#17) restored Top Shelf New England’s lead with an assist from Kai Scranton (#9) before Marco Cinque (#91) answered, finishing a feed from CJ Sawyer (#79) to make it 2-2.
That deadlock didn’t last long. Evan Fitzsimmons (#16) scored with an assist from Joey St. Laurent (#8) to put Top Shelf New England back in front. St. Laurent (#8) then added a goal of his own with Rothstien (#17) earning the assist to extend the lead to 4-2.
Kasen Walsh (#3) capped the scoring late in the period, finishing a pass from Fitzsimmons (#16) as Top Shelf New England secured the 5-2 victory and the 2010 Elite Division championship.
