Tropics ’02 continue assault.

CANTON – Another game, another win for the ’02 Tropics at the 2018 Jr. Chowder Cup. They started the final day of preliminary round play with a 5-0 victory over the Northern Vermont Wildcats, Saturday morning at the Canton Ice House, running their tournament record to 3-0-0.

The Tropics have been on a roll throughout, currently leading all ’02 division teams with a +24 goal differential. Their contest with the Wildcats was close for sometime, but seemingly came to a close in the final seven minutes of the first half. The Tropics struck five times in that span to take a comfortable 3-0 lead into the break.

They were right back after it early in the second half, Van Bouthillier scoring just 1:13 in. It was the first of two goals in the frame for the victors – the second scored by Marky Sheehan near the midpoint – finalizing the 5-0 conquest.

Connor Bradford backstopped the shutout win. The netminder has allowed just one goal through three games played in the tournament.
