Four in the first fuels Florida.

WALPOLE – The Florida Dragons and Five Hole Hockey met at Cadillac Arena on Day 2 of the 2024 Jr. Chowder Cup. The 2008 Elite division contest resulted in a 5-1 Dragons win Friday evening.

Four first period goals fueled the Florida victory. Andrew Moniak, Anderson Zaljicek, Ashton Stavish and Cooper Emerson each had a goal while netminder Gavin Jones kept Five Hole off the board to send the game to the intermission with the Dragons leading 4-0.

Five Hole got to Jones in the second with a Maxwell Garrett goal, but it was the only time in the contest the Dragons goalie yielded.

A second half goal from Nikolai Collins not only rounded out the 5-1 final score, but also gave him, along with Emerson, a game-high two points. The two Dragons defensemen each credited with a goal and an assist.
