BRAINTREE – At the onset of the final day of pool play at the 2024 Jr. Chowder Cup, the Boston Jr. Whalers (Green) scored the 2008 Elite division win on Saturday morning at the Thayer Sports Center. They did so by defeating Rapid Hockey Elite 4-3.
The lone goal of the first half went to Rapid Hockey. In the second, Boston’s offense sparked to wipe out their deficit and eventually take a 4-2 advantage on a pair of goals from Brendan Finley and one each from Grayson Endres and Frank Fan.
A late surge by Rapid brough the score to 4-3, but Caleb Boileau locked down the Whaler net in the final minutes to close out the win, the Boston netminder’s second of the tournament.
