FOXBORO – The Tampa Aces opened their stay at the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup with a win on Thursday morning. They defeated GRADS Hockey 4-2 at the Foxboro Sports Center in ’07 division play.
Opening up with a pair of goals in the first got the Aces going on their road to victory. Marek Rogers first and then a power play goal from Cayden Hardie started things off. Tyler Burnet netted one for GRADS late in the first to make it 2-1 Aces.
The scoring then remained mum through halftime and until late in the second when GRADS drew even on a Jay Dalgleish score with just over two minutes to play. The comeback joy was short lived, however, as Hardie struck again less than a minute later to re-establish the Tampa advantage.
Dreyden Barlow added the insurance with a half minute remaining, finalizing the 4-2 Aces victory.
