ATTLEBORO – In a Battle of the South in the North, the Florida Dragons topped the Eels (Gold), 6-2, in 2008 division play on Thursday afternoon at the 2023 Jr. Chowder Cup.
The game looked as though it would belong to the Dragons from the start. Florida lept out to a 3-0 lead at the start on a pair of goals by Brady Barber and one from Ashton Stavish.
Florida’s lead was cut into when Zachary Cumming and James Hodder put away goals for the Eels. Dalton Guasch put one away a minute before the break to send the game to the halftime break with the Dragons leading 4-2.
The Dragons distanced themselves in the second. Barber completed his hattrick and Niels Christensen netted final tally in Florida’s 6-2 win.
Alex Beaupre closed out the win in net for the Dragons.
