Anchor sink Army, 4-0.

CANTON – The NJ Anchors wasted little time in starting the quest of gaining their tournament opening win at the 2023 Jr. Chowder Cup. They rode a strong first period to a 4-0 triumph over Parker’s Army on Thursday afternoon at the Canton Ice House.

Right out of the gates the Anchors got things going. They opened the scoring in the opening minutes with a Ryan Van Zile goal and ran off a 3-0 halftime lead.

With the game already in their control, NJ’s defense did the bulk of the work out of the intermission. Jase Zangara (2G, 1A) added his second goal – and third of his game-high three points – while goaltender Nicholas Worthington continued his stellar play in thwarting all Parker attempts to earn the clean sheet and the Anchors the 4-0 victory.
