Eels beat Brahmas, 5-3.

BRIDGEWATER – In one of the last tournament games of the day to be played at the Bridgewater Ice Arena, the Eels held off the Boston Brahmas for a 5-3 win in ’07 division play at the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup.

Things were looking good for the Eels early as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Christian Fuicelli and Nicholas Ansbro, but a power play goal late in the first from Max Sheng put the Brahmas on the board and sent the game to the intermission 2-1.

As the Eels tried to distance themselves in the second, the Brahmas continued to pester and keep themselves in the game. An early power play goal from Fuicelli restored the two-goal lead for the Eels, but Drew Plotner had the Brahmas back to within one just before the five-minute mark.

The two sides traded another pair of goals as the second approached its midpoint. It was not until late in the game the Eels were able to seal it. A goal from Ansbro coming at 20:37 giving the Eels the cushion they needed for their 5-3 win.
