Knights, Roc City draw even at 4-4.

FOXBORO – While they still have not lost at the 2018 Jr. Chowder Cup, the Boston Knights Blue record is now a little less perfect. They split the points in their Saturday morning contest, playing Roc City Elite Red to a 4-4 tie at the Foxboro Sports Center.

The scoring started early, Roc City breaking the seal just 36-seconds after the opening face-off on a goal by Tyler Mahoney. Boston did not wait long in getting back to even, however, a Jake Russo goal at 2:04 making it 1-1.

A pair of goals by Tanner Mahoney put Roc City up 3-1, but Sam Vozzella scored at 17:25 – less than 10-seconds after Tanner Mahoney’s second – to send the Knights to halftime trailing by just one at 3-2.

Out of the break, it was the Knights’ turn to swing the scoreboard in their favor. Vozzella scored again at 7:51 to set things at 3-3. Chris O’Connell then scored as regulation was drawing to a close, the goal coming at 22:51 of the second half.

Victory was in sight, but Roc City spoiled the party. Anthony Carone scored with just nine seconds remaining to cancel out the Kinghts’ third victory of the tournament and make it a 4-4 tie.

Carone’s goal also garnered him the label of game’s leading scorer with a three-point showing (1G, 2A). Vozzella (2G), Russo (1G, 1A), Tanner Mahoney (2G) and Boston’s Joey Falso (2A) were also credited with multiple points in the contest.
