NorthStar takes Jr. CC’s opening tilt, 6-3.

FOXBORO – The final New England Pro-Am Hockey tournament of the summer season got underway Thursday morning with the 2023 Jr. Chowder Cup. The first match on this year’s slate was an ’07 division tilt between NorthStar Elite (Grey) and Roc City Elite (Silver), which went in favor of NorthStar by a 6-3 margin.

It was a contest that had two very different tones to each of its halves. The first gave the impression Roc City would coast to victory as they opened up a 3-1 advantage through the game’s opening 25 minutes.

Things could not have gone much differently in the second, however. NorthStar’s offense came alive to spring for five, while their defense and goaltender Alec Dawes shut down Roc City to solidify the 6-3, tournament opening victory.

Bobby Morrissey and Elliot Pasin led the assault for NorthStar, each credited with two goals in the contest.

DJ Tarulli also had a pair of goals in leading the Roc City offense.
