CANTON – It was a fine start to the 2023 Jr. Chowder Cup for 101% Always as they opened up their 2008 Elite division slate of games with a 4-0 shutout victory over Top Speed Hockey on Thursday morning at the Canton Ice House.
Quick work was made of things by 101 as they bolted out of the gates to assume a 3-0 lead through the game’s opening half. Michael Federico, Keegan Kazan and Richard Shin came through with the goals.
The scoring calmed in the second, but the damage had already been done. Ethan Travis added one more for good measure, while netminder Tyler O’Keefe continued his strong performance in turning every Top Speed attempt aside to solidify the 4-0 win.
Federico and Kazan also each had an assist to their credit. Along with Chase Field (2A), they all finished as the game’s top point-getter with two points apiece.
