CANTON – As both teams entered 2-0-0, top spot in their ’06 division bracket was on the line when the Ontario Rangers and Adirondack 46’ers met on the ice at the Canton Ice House on Saturday evening. That top spot went to the Rangers, who closed out their preliminary round schedule at the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup with a 6-2 victory.
The Rangers made their mark on the contest in the first as they ran themselves up a 4-1 lead through the opening 25 minutes. Jared Seto and Frankie Castigilone first then a power play goal each from Randy Mak and Kieran Ryan accounted for the Ontario scoring. An Ashtyn Catlin goal accounted for the 46’ers scoring in the first half.
Adirondack struck first in the second on a James Burnham goal, but it was their only score in the frame while the Rangers tacked two more onto their side of the scoreboard. Another from Seto and one from Elias Greenwood brought the 6-2 victory to a close.
Finn Marshall stood between the pipes for Ontario and posted his third win of the tournament.
