Squires rally from the morning for a blanking of JDM, 6-0.

ATTLEBORO – Saturday at the Jr. Chowder Cup started off in a rough fashion for the Squires Hawks, but it ended in a fine one. They rode a second half explosion to shutout JDM Sports Blue 6-0 on Saturday evening at the New England Sports Village.

It was an easy first half for the game’s scorekeeper, just one goal to note in the frame; A Billy Norcross score just around the half’s midpoint. The second half, however, was a much different story as the Hawks doubled their goals scored total from the tournament in that frame alone.

Five times Squires scored in the second half to run away from JDM in the victory. Norcross started off the half’s scoring. It was followed by a tally for Niles Iquselins, a pair from Matt Podersh and then a penalty shot goal by Rocco Bianculli to cap off the 6-0 victory for Squires.

Norcross led the offense with three points (2G, 1A), while Declan Chapman led the Hawks’ backend, posting the clean sheet from the victor’s net.
