FOXBORO – Day 2 of the 2023 Jr. Chowder Cup got underway Friday morning with the Cape Cod Whalers recording the first win of the day. They defeated Canada West Elite (Red) 6-1 in 2008 Elite division play at the Foxboro Sports Center.
After the two sides traded goals in the first half of the first half, Cape Cod took off in the later stages of the game’s opening frame. They ripped off three starting to head into the intermission leading 4-1.
Out of the break, the Whalers offense kept rolling. They posted another pair to solidify their 6-1 victory.
Jack McCourt led the Cape Cod offense with a three-point contest (1G, 2A). McCourt was seconded by Ryan Flynn (1G, 1A) and Daniel Gentile (1G, 1A).
Felix Bouchard was credited with the lone CWE goal.
