FOXBORO – The final day of pool play at the 2025 Jr. Chowder Cup got underway on Saturday morning, and the South Shore Kings (Connolly) made a splash in their pursuit of advancing to Sunday’s tournament playoffs. They defeated NorthStar Elite 10-2 in 2009 division play at the Foxboro Sports Center.
South Shore wasted little time in their quest for victory. They amassed a 2-0 lead less than five minutes after the game’s opening faceoff. A lead they increased to 4-0 by the first half’s end.
NorthStar did get on the board in the second with goals from Motiejus Devyzis and Reid Starr, but the Kings offense was far from done themselves. They bested their total from the first putting away six scores in the game’s latter half to hammer home the 10-2 decision.
The Kings dominant attack saw 11 skaters make their way onto the scoresheet, with six of those skaters credited with multiple entries. Luke Dickson and John Shagnessy tied for the game’s lead in scoring, each with two goals and two assists. Jack Connolly (2G, 1A), Brian Wegner (1G, 1A), Tim Grinnell (1G, 1A) and Cam Brown (2A) the remaining Kings with multipoint games.
Luke Dolan was credited with the win in the South Shore net.
