FOXBORO – It was a 3-1 win to open the 2024 Junior Chowder Cup for the Jr. Teddies. They defeated CHE (Blue) in 2008 Elite Division play on Thursday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center.
Ben Masotti gave CHE the game’s first lead with its opening goal at 16:40 of the first half. That lead was gone less than a minute later, however, on a Sam Flood goal that brought the game back to even.
The 1-1 tie lasted through the halftime intermission until Paxton Hoishik’s goal at 9:47 of the second gave the Teddies a lead they did not surrender. Goaltender Toby Triesky locked things down in the Teddies net, while Michael Ward contributed the insurance goal and brought about the 3-1 final.
